Explore the mystery of the labyrinth
Many know that St. John’s has its own labyrinth garden. But how much do you know about labyrinths and the role they can play in our spiritual life?

Join us at 9:30 a.m. (Central) Saturday (Oct. 24) on Zoom for an online workshop, “Wisdom Path: An Embodied Journey on the Labyrinth.” Certified labyrinth facilitator Barrie Carter Gibby will lead the session, which St. John’s is sponsoring.
Here is a description of the event: “This live on-line workshop offers an opportunity to experience the mystery of the archetype of the labyrinth. Through poetry, music, gentle movement and imagery, we will explore how this ancient tool can be a resource for spiritual practice as we seek to live open-heartedly during these unsettling times.”

Church Holds Annual Meeting Online
Members of St. John’s United Church of Christ on Madeline Island joined Rev. Rachel Bauman and other leaders at the church’s annual meeting, held by online video conference July 26.
Members heard updates on church work in the past 12 months and reviewed a proposed budget for 2021. Church Council President Debbie Knopf shared information about how the church and the congregation have responded amid COVID-19 concerns that have kept the church from holding in-person services and meetings since spring. Members in attedance approved the Annual Report as well as the proposed budget.
A recording of the annual meeting is available for review. For more information or to share thoughts, please email pastor@stjohnsmadelineisland.org.
